[Instagrammer's Visit #1 - @lovethekisses] ~ On The Table

We will be starting a new series on CAFFEINSG called 'Instagrammer's Visit', where we will feature cafe reviews by popular instagrammers.

To kick start the brand new series, we have invited Wenhui (@lovethekisses) to be the first instagrammer to contribute her cafe review!

2 weeks ago, Windy and I checked out this relatively new cafe called On The Table, opened by the brains behind Lola's Cafe. Food here's really similar to the ones at Lola's so we enjoyed it a lot! It is so much more spacious and quiet here too.

Crispy Honey Wings (S$9) - these have become one of my favourite wings ever since Lola's because they are really so crispy and tender at the same time. I love the honey and spices that add on a different texture as well as a mixture of tastes to the wings.

Seafood Aglio Olio (S$16) - linguine with squid, prawns, chilli and garlic. The pasta's of the right softness and somehow it doesn't have the 'typical' aglio olio taste to it but we actually loved it this way. Very light but flavourful too, they could probably do with more squid though hehe.

Ultimate Croissant (S$13) - butter croissant with honey-glazed bacon, ham, scrambled egg, mayo and cheddar cheese. I'm on a croissant and scrambled eggs craze recently so I'll definitely order if they are on the menu. The croissant's huge with a flaky and crispy exterior, the egg is creamy and moist and they go so well with the bacon and ham. I actually love how the mayo and cheese help to enhance the flavour of the dish too (yes, coming from someone who hates the two!).

On The Table's in my Top 10 cafes list now hehe, I'll be back soon for more! They serve really good ice-cream too I heard, but we didn't try it.

[Overseas Edition] PHUKET - Kopitiam by Wilai

Kopitiam by Wilai is located in Phuket Old Town at 18 Talang Road, Amphoe Muang Phuket. The cafe is beautiful designed with nostalgia photo frames, wardrobes and Chinese decorations.

Phuket Old Town has quite a lot of cafes all situated in that particular area. However, the decor of Kopitiam by Wilai stood out along the row of shophouses located there. The place was not too crowded during the weekday's lunchtime when I patronised the cafe, which makes it a cozy environment to enjoy your lunch together by yourself or a group of friends.

The cafe also offers an extensive range of affordable options.

Food, as mentioned, was inexpensive. Yet, the quality of the food in the cafe far exceeds the price.

The seafood thai vermicelli salad was beautifully plated with a generous portion of prawns and squids.

The Chicken Massaman Curry was also a must-try in the cafe!

People in Thailand were generally very nice, but the service I've experienced in this cafe was way beyond what was expected. One of my friends actually paid more for the price of a mineral water and left the shop. Two minutes later, while we were in fact quite a distance away from the cafe, the cashier actually came running out of the shop and passed her back the change.

So, with such good food and service; there's no doubt this cafe has generated quite a handful of positive reviews online!
